  Description
Screw Screens
Screw Screens
GCP is a Screw Screen that consists of a screen basket, a conveyor screw, and a compaction section. GE is almost identical with GCP but misses the compaction section. It is suitable for applications where screenings may not or cannot be compacted.

Screw Screens
The process starts in the screen that holds back solids only. The internal part of the screen is continuously cleaned by brushes fixed on the outside diameter of the flighting. As the water runs through the screen the shaftless spiral conveys the solids up towards the compaction module where the material is further de-watered. Depending to the material properties, screenings can be reduced by more than 50% of their original volume.

Performance & Technical Features - Benefits
Screw Screens
Screw Screens
  • Throughput rates up to 1000 m/h (589 cfm)
  • Screen mesh size ranging from 0.25 mm (0.01") to 10 mm (0.4")
  • Screen width ranging from 200 mm (8") to 700 mm (27")
  • Stainless steel casing
  • Shaftless spiral screw in carbon steel or stainless steel
  • Intermittent operation
  • Variety of screen mesh sizes
  • Versatility: can be installed in a concrete channel on site or supplied with a self-supporting container (supplied on request)
  • Volume reduction up to 50%

  • Absence of inside bearings
  • No mechanical components in contact with the product handled
  • Slow r.p.m.
  • Shaftless spiral, therefore no jamming or blocking even with fibrous products
  • Possibility of discharge into plastic bags
  • Long-life screw brushes
  • Low investment costs

GCP = screw screen press for channel installation
GCP/C = screw screen press installed in a self-supporting container
GE = screw screen without compaction for channel installation
GE/C = screw screen without compaction installed in a self-supporting container

GE model, without compacting zone, has been developed mainly to be used in industries where solids do not require any forced de-watering (e.g. plastics) or may not be de-watered.
